There were a few items then the last was the mauluulu the kia toa syndicate. we walked on the stage and was the last to perform and got in our lines then started performing people came up and gave us money. my lesson with filipe tohi
On tuesday me and the whole syndicate were in the hall at lunch waiting for filipe tohi. a famous tongan artist who uses the coconut mesocarp to weave things. he showed us how he made art inspired by his emotions. Like when he showed us this sculpture he made showing he was sad leaving tonga. Then in the lesson he showed us this peace of art he brought with him. He asked if we saw a fish then we did he flipped it upside down and asked if we saw a bird. I didn't but others did. After the lesson we were aloud to ask 5 questions first someone asked about his age he was 60. Then some other questions. At the end we got to touch his artwork then said goodbye and left.
5 critical questions
Who deserves recognition for this
Filipe tohi.
Where will we see this in the real world
Around the world.
when will we know we've succeeded
When I try it.
Why is this a challenge
Because there will be a lot of concentration and weaving.
