dear santa

Dear Santa,

My name is Xyrus and I am 10 year old boy.
I go to Tamaki Primary School. I really like how you travel
around the whole world just to give good kids their presents.
I hope that you are ok.

I have been good this year for helping at home
by doing my chores.
I am always showing Rangimarie and Ako at school.

I really need and want a doodle book and coloring pencils
please so I can learn to remember how to spell new long words
by spelling them in the doodle book over again until I
remember how to spell them.

Thank you Santa,

From Xyrus

When we were done changing it was time. so we walked barefoot all the way to the big hall. It started by a prayer said by sofeles dad. Then the new zealand anthem after the tongan anthem. There were a few items then the last was the mauluulu the kia toa syndicate. we walked on the stage and was the last to perform and got in our lines then started performing people came up and gave us money. After we all went back to class to change into our uniforms then went to the feast.

my lesson with filipe tohi

On tuesday me and the whole syndicate were in the hall at lunch waiting for filipe tohi. a famous tongan artist who uses the coconut mesocarp to weave things. he showed us how he made art inspired by his emotions. Like when he showed us this sculpture he made showing he was sad leaving tonga. Then in the lesson he showed us this peace of art he brought with him. He asked if we saw a fish then we did he flipped it upside down and asked if we saw a bird. I didn't but others did. After the lesson we were aloud to ask 5 questions first someone asked about his age he was 60. Then some other questions. At the end we got to touch his artwork then said goodbye and left.

5 critical questions

Who deserves recognition for this

Filipe tohi.

Where will we see this in the real world

Around the world.

when will we know we've succeeded

When I try it.

Why is this a challenge

Because there will be a lot of concentration and weaving.
